On May 30, 2020, the Reinforced Concrete Spiral Strip Reinforcement Method,

which increases the buckling strength of the main steel, was designated

as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's new technology (No. 889).

The designation of new technology is the result of applying the results of joint research and development of Korea Heat Treatment Co., Ltd., Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd., Hub Structure Engineering Co., Ltd., and Kongju University Industry-Academy Collaboration Foundation to the construction site.

The new technical name is  'the spiral type rebar steel reinforcement method (KSS method of construction) for the reinforced concrete square column lateral reinforcement in which the spiral type secondary band steel of the coplanar octahedral is continued between the band steel reinforcement.

The method improves the ductility and energy dissipation ability of the column by increasing the effect of deep concrete constraint and the buckling strength of the main bar, and greatly improves the seismic performance of the building structure.
